At Sweet Science Foundation, we firmly believe that prevention is far more effective than the cure. Our motto, “It’s better to build strong children than to repair broken adults,” reflects our commitment to empowering young minds with the tools they need to thrive in today’s society. Since 2005, we have developed and refined our Sweet Science programme, leveraging the discipline and ethos of boxing to instil invaluable life skills such as self-control, confidence, and moral integrity in children and young people.
“I thought it was just going to be boxing, but the coach really got me thinking about things.”

The Sweet Science Foundation boxing programme serves as a Trojan horse to enable our coaches to attract pupils’ attention, gain their respect, and then earn their trust.
This enables us to develop relationships where we can understand their situations and help with positive advice and productive strategies to help them navigate through the minefield that today’s young people face.
Sweet Science Foundation is not a boxing club or a youth club – we are so much more. We utilise the mystique and allure of boxing and its noble ethos to support children and young people to become the best version of themselves.
There is something about boxing that evokes and commands the attention of young people. A Boxing coach commands respect that a football or netball coach may not. We believe it is the subconscious knowledge that the coach has faced their fears – the fear of testing yourself against an equal, the fear of getting hit and potentially hurt, plus the fact that this person has committed themselves to hard training which takes mental strength, discipline and resilience.
Since the development of the Sweet Science Programme, we have worked with hundreds of schools and thousands of pupils across the UK. We have worked with many organisations supporting children and young people and delivered projects with Sport England, World Health Organisation, CNWL NHS Foundation Trust and CAMHS, Department for Education and many others.
We have worked with the BBC “Your Game” project, Get Berkshire Active, Thames Valley Police and Everyone Active, bringing sports to school across the UK. We work closely with number of Local Authorities offering our mentoring services to the most vulnerable children and young people in the local community. We also partner with other charities like Young Harrow Foundation, John Lyon’s Charity, Deo Duce Foundation, and many others.
The journey continues and with your help we will be able to reach further and offer more support to those who need it the most.
